SVFSA Board of Directors

I'm the founder and president of Sacramento Valley Fever Survivors & Awareness (SVFSA), an organization I started to raise awareness, support survivors, and help people better understand Valley Fever.

My connection to this mission is personal. I'm a survivor of disseminated Valley Fever that affected my thoracic spine, and that experience changed my life. It opened my eyes to how serious and often misunderstood this disease is, and how many people go through it without the support or information they need.

Professionally, I come from the electrical trade and currently work as a Maintenance Technician at Sacramento International Airport. My background has taught me discipline, problem-solving, and how to stay focused under pressure—skills I now bring into building this organization.

I created SVFSA to give survivors a voice, a place to share their stories, and access to real support. My goal is to build something that not only helps people today, but also contributes to long-term awareness, education, and progress toward better outcomes for everyone affected by Valley Fever.

Zarinah Galovich serves as the Board Secretary for Sacramento Valley Fever Survivors & Awareness (SVFSA), where she helps keep the organization organized, efficient, and aligned with its mission. She plays a key role in supporting communication, coordination, and day-to-day operations of the nonprofit.

As a Registered Dental Assistant and dedicated mother, Zarinah is deeply committed to caring for others and giving back to her community. She values family, compassion, and genuine connection—principles that naturally led her to become involved with SVFSA.

Zarinah is proud to be part of an organization that provides Valley Fever survivors a platform to share their stories, support one another, and contribute to raising awareness and advancing efforts toward a cure.

Gretta Etheridge serves as Treasurer for Sacramento Valley Fever Survivors & Awareness (SVFSA). She brings a strong commitment to accountability, organization, and responsible stewardship of the organization's resources. As Treasurer, Gretta helps ensure SVFSA maintains sound financial practices while supporting the organization's mission of awareness, education, advocacy, and survivor support.

Gretta is passionate about helping build a trusted nonprofit that serves Valley Fever patients, families, and communities. Her dedication to service, professionalism, and community involvement helps strengthen the foundation of SVFSA as it grows throughout California and beyond.

Through her leadership and support, Gretta plays an important role in helping SVFSA expand its outreach efforts, educational initiatives, and long-term impact within the Valley Fever community.
